If there is an average for the number of ideas you have in one day, I imagine I would be well above that average. The problem with ideas is you never know how good they are until you tell others. This site should help me discover if I'm just waisting my time.
Smashing Book Gromit
Posted by andypaddock in Cool Stuff, Cool Web Stuff
Of the many books I’ve tried[1] to read, The Smashing Book has to be the best. I’m not the reading type and the technology behind web design moves so quickly most books are out of date before they’re published. So I generally resort to the multitude of advice, tutorials, forums etc that can be found at the great google library in my dinning room (current location of the mac).
The thing that I find the The Smashing Book does well is stimulate my imagination, it also explains why things are best done in a certain way and then backs up its theory with real examples.
The book is a spin off from smashingmagazine.com, which is a site I visit often (nearly every day when at work) to get inspired or just get the latest free stuff. Even if you don’t buy the book the site is well worth bookmarking and if your anything like me you’ll feel so guilty about getting all their free stuff that you can ease your conscience by buying their book.
